The technique: The up-down & rolling system is mainly used for
plastic parts. Similar to the hot stamping, a hot silicone plate or
roll activates the glue and connects the décor pictures (colour /
protection layer) with the subject. The empty base foil is left.
The advantage is the cost-benefit ratio. The foil is printed/stamped fully-automatic on huge machines. Currently, the biggest machine has 12 printing stations. That means that besides the release and the glue layer, up to 10 colours can be printed. The décor pictures are then applied onto your part with just one operation step (heat-transfer-technique).
